Hemphill drew a foul two seconds later. He missed the first free throw, but made the second to secure the Wamego win.
“We had a good run at the end of the fourth quarter. I felt like we didn’t make the extra pass to get a better look,” Concordia coach Brandon Rice said of putting up three-point attempts on four consecutive possessions.
The Panthers were just 3 of 16 from three-point range in the game.
With Wethington scoring seven points, Wamego got out to a 10-7 lead in the game.
A 7-2 spurt to start the second quarter gave Concordia a 14-12 advantage.

Four straight points by Pounds closed the gap to 36-34.
Wamego tossed in seven straight points to build a 43-34 cushion.
Concordia battled back, but couldn’t overtake the Red Raiders.
“We were flat. The four previous games we played with a lot of bounce and intensity, and I thought we lacked a little of that,” Rice said.
Holmes scored 15 points for Concordia.
Pounds had 10 points.
Erkenbrack added eight points and six rebounds.
Wethington led Wamego with 17 points.
Matthew Webb scored 12 for the Red Raiders.
