T-Bird baseball opens season 1-3

ENID, Okla. — Cloud County scored seven runs in the third inning and five in the sixth to defeat Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in the final game of a four-game series on Tuesday.
The Thunderbirds opened the season by dropping the first three games to Northern Oklahoma, but used the two big innings to get the win in the finale.
Northern Oklahoma beat Cloud County 6-2 and 11-3 on Monday, and won the first game of the doubleheader on Tuesday, 6-1.
The T-Birds trailed 2-0 heading into the top of the third inning in game two.
Six hits, a walk, two hit batters and two errors led to seven Cloud County runs.
Matt Jackson drove in two runs with a single.
Dylan Casey had a run-producing single.
Cloud County upped the lead to 12-2 with five runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Chase Reibenspies knocked in two runs with a single.
Casey singled home a run.
Northern Oklahoma scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 12-3.
Taylor West pitched the first five innings to get the win for Cloud County. He gave up two runs on six hits, struck out three and walked one.
Dylon Sturges allowed one run on two hits in one inning of work. He walked one.
Ryan Blankenship worked one scoreless inning. He allowed two hits, struck out one and walked one.
Casey had three hits, drove in two runs and scored two.
Aaric Woodyard had two hits for the T-Birds.
In the first game on Tuesday, Northern Oklahoma put up four runs in the second inning and two in the third to go up 6-0.
Cloud County scored its only run in the top of the fourth inning.
Caleb Blumer went two and two-thirds innings in taking the loss. He allowed six runs on five hits, struck out two and walked two.
Trevor Rinne gave up just one hit in three and a third innings. He struck out one and walked one.
Jackson had two hits for the T-Birds.
Cloud County fell behind 4-1 in the first two innings of game one on Monday.
The Jets made it 6-1 with two runs in the fifth inning.
Orie McBratney singled home Ryan Conner in the top of the sixth for Cloud County.
Kevin Shaffer suffered the loss. He gave up six runs on eight hits, struck out one and walked two in five innings.
Blankenship retired all three batters he faced in the sixth inning.
Conner had two hits and scored two runs.
McBratney had two hits.
Cloud County took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning in game two.
Northern Oklahoma tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the third, and then put up six runs in the fourth to go up 8-2.
The Jets added one run in the fifth and two in the sixth to make it 11-2.
Cloud County scored a run in the seventh.
Steven Federau gave up eight runs on seven hits, struck out seven and walked two in taking the loss.
Sturges and Brendan Hardaway pitched one inning each.
